Gorakhpur, Sep 28 (Reporter) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate PepsiCo's GIDA (Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority) unit, operated by Messers Varun Beverages, PepsiCo's largest franchisee and manufacturer on Sunday, official sources said here on Saturday. Sources said that the facility marks a significant milestone for the global soft drink brand. Varun Beverages has invested Rs 1,071 crore to set up PepsiCo's unit in Sector 27 of GIDA. The CM performed the Bhoomi Pujan and laid the foundation stone on April 8, 2023. The construction was completed within a year and commercial production began in April 2024. The facility has already provided employment to 1,500 people. Yogi will officially inaugurate the unit on Sunday, September 29. He will also inaugurate four newly constructed rooms and a multipurpose auditorium in Mewalal Gupta Gurukul Vidyalaya, Gorakhnath. These rooms have been constructed by Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA). As part of his Gorakhpur visit, he will participate in the celebrations marking the 132nd birth anniversary of Bhaiji Hanuman Prasad Poddar at Geeta Vatika.
