The CM was addressing a public meeting after unveiling the statue of Maharana Pratap and launching 256 development projects worth Rs 899 crores here, related to roads, drinking water and overall development on the occasion. Yogi highlighted the fulfilment of long-standing demands of people through a triple engine government by giving decisive victory to Manorma Maurya in the municipal elections. He assured the residents that upon his return, he would inaugurate the development projects. Yogi said, "When the country celebrates the centenary of independence, we need to envision the kind of India we desire. PM Modi had pledged the five resolutions for a developed India. It is also a commitment to permanently end the remnants of slavery. Maharana Pratap stands as a great hero who broke the chains of slavery. He had declared that he would rather eat grass, but never bow to foreign rule." The Chief Minister said that even after centuries, the valour of national heroes like Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh and Rani Lakshmi Bai make every Indian proud. "The statue of Maharana Pratap symbolises the same spirit of self-respect that inspires us to walk the path of nationalism," he said. The residents of this place have excelled in various fields and showcased their talent through entrepreneurship," he said. Attacking the opposition, the CM asked the people whether the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Kashi could have been built if there was not a double-engine government at the center and in the state. He mentioned how the opposition opposed events like Jalabhishek in Kashi. Yogi said that riots were organised before festivals in the country. "Today, the government encourages and supports peaceful celebrations of festivals, ensuring security. The government does not tolerate any mischief under the guise of security and those who attempt such actions will have to pay the price," he said. He emphasised that the country has undergone a transformation, witnessing the emergence of a new India. "While in the past, there were clashes over chanting "Jai Shri Ram," now the world is coming to witness the Ayodhya pilgrimage. Through Modi ji's Guaranteed Welfare Scheme, every section of the society is being given the benefits of welfare schemes and the guarantee of livelihood," Yogi said. The CM informed that Jaunpur is witnessing an investment of Rs 3,300 crores due to an improved security environment. "The setting up of an STPI is underway. During the COVID-19 pandemic, those whose parents were affected by the disease are receiving pensions, allowances, and educational facilities from the government."
