Lucknow, May 31 (Reporter) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that the state has been experiencing severe heatwaves over the past few days. In such a situation, robust measures should be taken at every level to ensure the general public's safety, livestock, and wildlife.
Addressing a high-level meeting, the CM said that a daily bulletin of weather forecast should be issued from the level of Relief Commissioner Office. "The season of intense heat and heat waves is going on. In such conditions, whether in villages or cities, there should be no unnecessary power cuts. If needed, make arrangements to purchase additional electricity. Issues like defective transformers, falling wires, and tripping should be resolved without delay. Officials should attend to phone calls and ensure no disputes arise. If any do, senior officials should immediately reach the site themselves," he said.
He said that drinking water stations should be set up at all municipal bodies and rural areas. "Ensure arrangements for drinking water at various locations in markets and on main roads. The cooperation of social and religious organisations should also be taken in this work. Water should be sprinkled regularly on the roads," he said.
Yogi said water supply should be ensured through tankers in the areas most affected by water shortage. "There should not be a shortage of drinking water anywhere," he said.
He said that special attention needs to be given to cleanliness. "Particular focus should be placed on all religious places like Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura. Given Bada Mangal, ensure smooth arrangements for cleanliness, traffic, and other facilities in Lucknow," he said.
The CM said that it is also necessary to take care of the safety of livestock and wildlife amid the scorching heat. "Heat-wave action plans should be effectively implemented in all zoological parks and sanctuaries," he said.
He said proper arrangements should be made to keep livestock farmers safe during heatwaves. Ensure proper fodder, water, and facilities for livestock in cow shelters (Gaushalas). Continue the process of vaccinating animals before the onset of the monsoon, he said.
Yogi said that the general public should be made aware of the symptoms of heatwave and preventive measures. "Ensure immediate medical facilities for everyone in case of illness. People affected by heat waves should be treated immediately in hospitals/medical colleges," he said.
He said supply of drinking water in cities should be done as per the prescribed roster, all hand pumps should be kept functional, and rural pipe drinking water schemes should be operated smoothly.
The CM said that running a drinking water stall in public places is a noble deed. "Water and shade should be arranged in public places for cattle and stray dogs. Raise awareness among the public to keep water and grains in small pots for birds," he said...////...
