Yogi conducts aerial survey to ensure smooth movement of devotees at Maha Kumbh

Prayagraj, Feb 1 (Reporter) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of the entire Prayagraj city during his visit on Saturday, inspecting roads leading to the Maha Kumbh area and taking stock of the overall situation. The CM focused on key routes connecting the city to various districts, especially those affected by heavy traffic during and after the Mauni Amavasya bathing festival. There are seven major routes linking Prayagraj to different districts. During the Amrit Snan festival of Mauni Amavasya, a large number of devotees arrived at Maha Kumbh in private vehicles and UP State Road Transport Corporation buses. To ensure smooth movement, Yogi had earlier directed the officials to make adequate arrangements for the large influx of devotees coming from across the state and the country to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. Following his directives, officials have taken several measures to prevent traffic congestion on highways and within the city. Proper parking facilities have been arranged along all major routes, ensuring that devotees' vehicles are parked systematically. Besides, convenient transportation has been provided from the parking areas to the Sangam. To assist visitors, signages in multiple languages have been installed, and all necessary amenities have been made available on highways for the comfort of devotees. Meanwhile, the number of people bathing in the holy confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati in Maha Kumbh is not decreasing and about 1.5 crore devotees had taken a holy dip in Triveni, including 10 lakh Kalpavasis. Lakhs of people were seen moving towards the Sangam area in the fair area. Saints and Mahatmas said that bathing at any ghat of Tirtharaj Prayagraj will give virtuous results on the occasion of Maha Kumbh. They have appealed that devotees should bathe and meditate at their nearest ghat and avoid crowds. According to official information, till 2 pm, 1.5 crore devotees had taken a holy dip in Triveni, including which more than 31.46 crore pilgrims have taken a bath in Sangam during Maha Kumbh so far. On the other hand, all arrangements have been made in the fair area for the safety of the devotees on the Basant Panchami bathing festival. Entry of vehicles will be prohibited in the entire Prayagraj including the fair area on the bathing festival. Only police administration vehicles and ambulances will be allowed to enter the fair area. There will be a holiday in schools on Basant Panchami. SDRF and NDRF personnel will be ready to deal with any untoward situation. Medical facilities will also be in place in the fair area. Devotees will be safely returned to their destination after bathing at their nearest ghat. Devotees will be appealed through the public address system not to crowd the ghats.
