Moradabad (UP), Mar 16 (Reporter) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that by fostering an excellent environment of law and order, the Uttar Pradesh Police has changed the public's perception of the state. While addressing the passing-out parade organised at Bhimrao Ambedkar Police Academy, the CM emphasised that the exemplary efforts of the UP Police over the past seven years have propelled the state to excel across all sectors, solidifying its reputation as a front-runner in every domain. He said, "Over the past seven years, there has been no riot, organised crime is on the decline, and all major national and international festivals and events have been conducted safely. Moreover, the arrival of esteemed dignitaries and the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya were executed with the utmost grandeur and joy. This accomplishment reflects the dedication and diligence of the UP Police personnel, setting a benchmark for policing worldwide." Yogi commended the UP Police for their outstanding performance in maintaining law and order, controlling crime, and fostering social harmony, especially during challenging times. He expressed satisfaction as 8,362 sub-inspectors and platoon commanders, including 1,618 women police sub-inspectors, are set to join the UP Police following the completion of the basic course of civil police at the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar UP Police Academy. The CM said that UP Police is getting more than 8,000 police personnel who have successfully completed one year of rigorous training and professional skills. "They will play an important role in improving the law and order situation in the state," he said. He said, "Training is the time when a trainee acquires theoretical and practical knowledge along with all the norms of active service and high ideals of practical life. It is during this phase that they prepare themselves to fulfil the duties of a responsible public servant effectively. It is often said about uniformed forces that the more they sweat in training, the less likely they are to shed blood during challenging times." Yogi highlighted that the capacity of police training has tripled over the past seven years. "Throughout the training, topics such as law and order and human rights were covered, along with new areas like cyber crime and forensic science." Three new laws are coming into effect from July 1. For this, a committee has also been formed at the state government level. It's gratifying that all trainees have been educated on these new laws during their training. These laws prioritise justice over punishment," he said. He also highlighted the Prime Minister's SMART - Strict and Sensitive, Modern and Mobile, Alert and Accountable, Reliable and Responsive, Techno-savvy and Trained - concept of policing. "This concept provides us with constant and clear guidance for law enforcement. Moving beyond traditional investigation and punishment methods and embracing modern technology and evidence not only enhances justice but also reduces unnecessary expenditure and labour in investigations," he said. The CM expressed that this training would be highly effective in establishing a police force that is efficient, fair, transparent, accountable, and sensitive to public service. He said that the state government has completed the recruitment process of 1.60 lakh police personnel. "Additionally, 1 lakh 56 thousand policemen have been promoted," he said. While extending his best wishes to the trained policemen, the CM said, "All of you are going to be a part of the world's most glorious police force."
