Lucknow, Jan 13 (Reporter) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Monday appealed to the workers to work wholeheartedly for the Milkipur assembly by-election and said that winning the by-poll is very important for democracy. In a meeting of leaders and workers of Faizabad, Ayodhya, and Milkipur at the party's state Headquarters, Akhilesh said that the party must win the Milkipur by-election. "This is necessary for democracy. The ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be allowed to act arbitrarily in the by-election," he said. He said that the BJP is unable to digest the defeat in Ayodhya during Lok Sabha polls. "To take revenge for its defeat, the BJP is adopting unethical tactics. By threatening the voters and misusing the administrative machinery, the BJP registered its victory on seven seats in the by-election. Everyone has understood the tricks of the BJP. SP workers will now give a befitting reply to the conspiracies of the BJP," he said. The SP chief said that development is blocked by the BJP government. "Health services are ruined. The education system is in shambles. Fake medicines are being given to the poor. Treatment is not being provided in hospitals. Law and order is in shambles. People of the PDA community are being sent to jail by implicating them in false cases. Deaths are happening in custody. Fake encounters are taking place. Women and girls have to face humiliation and torture every day. There is corruption at every level, police station and tehsil," he alleged. He said that today the farmer is the most miserable. "He is not even getting the cost price of the crop. Farmers are agitating for the mandatory MSP but their pleas are not being heard in the BJP government. The promise of doubling the income of farmers has remained just a promise. Farmers are wandering from door to door for fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides. Youths are not getting jobs. Youths and farmers troubled by unemployment and debt are being forced to commit suicide. Neither new industries are being set up nor capital investment is coming from outside. False figures of the progress of the state are being shown," he claimed. Akhilesh said that justice will be done to everyone only through PDA. "Social justice will be achieved only then. The demand for a caste census is being made so that everyone can get rights and respect on a proportionate basis. The people who are badly troubled by the BJP government are not going to wait any longer.
