Chandigarh, June 5 (Reporter) Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, on Thursday said that if Congress gives her a ticket, she would like to contest the Punjab assembly elections in 2027. Speaking to media persons, Dr Sidhu said she was preparing for the elections and would like to contest from the Amritsar East seat. She hinted that her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu might join the Ludhiana by-polls campaign soon and the reason for his absence so far was his IPL agreement. She said that she too would be actively campaigning for the party in the Ludhiana by-polls. Notably, Navjot Singh Sidhu has, more or less, remained away from politics after the Congress' debacle in the 2022 assembly elections.
