Bengaluru, Oct 16 (Reporter) The BJP on Wednesday demanded clarification from the ruling Congress on why MUDA Chairman K Marigowda has stepped down if no wrongdoing had occurred. Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka voiced the party's concerns, stating that Marigowda’s resignation raises questions about the alleged illegal allotment of 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife by MUDA. "If there was no scam, why did he resign?" Ashoka asked, accusing CM Siddaramaiah of being the central figure in the controversy. Despite claims that Marigowda resigned for health reasons and faced no pressure from Congress or the Chief Minister, Ashoka stressed that both the Lokayukta and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are currently investigating the matter. He also referenced allegations about misuse of funds from the Valmiki Tribal Development Corporation during elections in Ballari, further heightening the political tension. Ashoka also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of harming India’s global reputation, and mocked Congress party's stance on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), pointing out the inconsistency of supporting EVMs when they win and blaming them when they lose...////...
