Sitapur (UP), July 11 (Reporter) A wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 was arrested in an encounter with the police from the Khairabad area of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior police officer said. Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakresh Mishra said on Thursday morning during joint checking by the police and Special Operation Group (SOG) spotted a man moving suspiciously on a motorcycle. "When signalled to stop the miscreants attempted to escape and opened fire on the police team," he said. He said in retaliatory firing the miscreant sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was arrested. "The arrested criminal has been admitted to the district hospital. The arrested criminal has been identified as Babar, a resident of Tanda Gursanda," he said. The SP said that there are around 11 cases lodged against Babar. "He was wanted in a case related to the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act after which a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced on his arrest," he said...////...
