WADA reinstates N Korea's anti-doping agency

Pyongyang, Jan 27 (Reporter) The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that North Korea’s national anti-doping organization had been removed from the list of parties that are non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code. In 2021, the North Korean anti-doping agency was found to be non-compliant with the WADA code after its failure to introduce an effective testing program, which resulted in a ban on competing under the national flag. "Following a circulatory vote of its Executive Committee (ExCo), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) removed, with immediate effect, the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from the list of Signatories that are non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code (Code)," WADA said in a statement on Friday. Earlier in January, WADA management provided the independent Compliance Review Committee with updates of North Korea’s reinstatement conditions, and the committee agreed that the necessary requirements had been met by Pyongyang, according to the statement. To date, there are three non-compliant organizations on the list – the Russian Anti-Doping Agency, the Olympic Council of Asia and the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation...////...
