The Foundation Day of Uttarakhand state was celebrated with dignity and grandeur at the Raj Bhavan today on the instructions of Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel. Uttarakhand Foundation Day was organized under the ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ campaign. Residents of Bhopal of Uttarakhand origin presented folk songs, music, and dances of Uttarakhand. Messages of Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh and short films from the states of Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh were also telecast. President of the Association of Bhopal residents of Uttarakhand origin Shri Negi, Shri Suresh Karnat and senior Hindi litterateur Shri Kailash Chand Pant were honoured on behalf of Governor Shri Patel by Shri Umashankar Bhargava, Additional Secretary to the Governor. They were presented with mementos and samples of Chanderi handiwork. The programme concluded with a grand community lunch.
