US Senate votes to begin debate on $95bln foreign aid bill

Washington, Feb 10 (Reporter) The US Senate has voted to begin debate on a $95 billion foreign aid bill that would provide security assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. The Senate on Friday evening voted 64-19 to begin work on the foreign aid bill, which is expected to continue through the weekend into early next week. A final vote on the bill is expected early next week, but it remains to be seen if that's at risk over amendments Republicans want to add to the legislation. On Wednesday, Senate Republicans blocked a $118 billion national security supplemental package that includes $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel and border policy reforms. Republicans claim the reforms in the bill would not do enough to deter illegal immigration. The $95 billion foreign bill includes $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, among funding for other national security priorities, but excludes any border-related measures...////...
