UP: Two criminals accused of BJP leader's murder arrested in encounter

Bulandshahr (UP), Sept 6 (Reporter) Two criminals accused of killing a former village head were arrested after an encounter with the Bulandshahr police here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a senior police officer said here. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said that on Thursday night three criminals opened fire on the police of which two managed to escape after which intensive checking was being done. He said that on Friday morning Ahmedgarh police received information that the two criminals had been spotted near Papari village and they were heading towards the jungle. He said that acting on the information teams from several police stations launched a search operation in the jungle. The SSP said that during checking the teams spotted two suspicious persons moving on a motorcycle. "When signalled to stop, the suspects attempted to flee and opened fire on the police team," he said. He said that in retaliatory firing both the criminals sustained bullets in their legs and were injured. "In initial questioning the criminals revealed their names as Sajid and Surendra. They revealed that on August 30 they killed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and forner village head Ramvir in Khanpur area," he said...////...
