Jalaun (UP), Feb 23 (Reporter) A septuagenarian was allegedly killed by unidentified persons with a sharp weapon in Rampura area of Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, a police officer said here.
Madhavgarh Circle Officer (CO) Ram Singh Yadav said that information was received that an unknown body was lying on the track near the canal in the morning.
"On receiving the information, Rampura police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar reached the spot and recovered the body of a 70-year-old man and prima facie it seems that he was murdered with a sharp weapon," he said.
He said that the deceased was identified as Vidyaram Azad, a resident of Silaua village.
"Dinesh, son of the deceased, who reached the spot, said that his father had a rivalry with some people, probably those people have committed the murder," he said.
Police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar said that on the basis of the complaint of the family members, a case will be registered under relevant sections.
Police have taken a suspect into custody and interrogation is going on, he added...////...
