Lucknow, Aug 23 (Reporter) The recruitment exam for 60,244 posts of police constable in Uttar Pradesh began on Friday amid tight security arrangements at 1,174 examination centres located in 67 districts of the state.
More than 60 lakh candidates are participating in this exam which will be held in five days till August 31. Candidates are being given entry at the examination centres after strict checking. Magistrates and senior police officers are constantly visiting the examination centres. The exam will be conducted in two shifts.
Director General of Police Prashant Kumar said that more than 60 lakh aspirants will participate in the five-day exam in 67 districts. This exam will be conducted in two shifts every day. Police officers are deployed everywhere to conduct the exam smoothly and transparently. This time such arrangements have been made that no one faces any inconvenience.
He said that wherever information of irregularities is being received, FIR has been registered at all places. Those who create obstacles in conducting a copy-free exam will not be spared under any circumstances. Till now there is no information of question paper leak from anywhere. Strict action will be taken against those who are spreading misleading news.
It may e noted that the state government has made strict security arrangements for the constable civil police direct recruitment examination. Static magistrates have been deployed at every examination centre, while according to the number of candidates in the centre,
Deputy Superintendent of Police to Sub Inspector are present as center supervisors, while CCTV cameras are being closely monitored. All the candidates will be allowed to enter the examination center only after biometric verification.
These examinations are being conducted on August 23, 24, 25 and 30, 31 at 1,174 centres in 67 districts of the state.
Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) Rajiv Krishna said that various administrative and police officers and employees have been deployed for the examination.
At the district level the District Magistrate will work as the District Supervisor (Magistrate). Other administrative arrangements have been made by them including the deployment of examination centre duty, sector magistrate, static magistrate.
