Prayagraj, Feb 16 (Reporter) A staggering number of around 1.5 crore devotees took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam on Sunday with the wish of salvation during the ongoing Maha Kumbh here. The sequence of bathing and meditation continued uninterrupted even late at night in the Sangam area. More than 1.25 crore devotees took a holy dip at the Triveni of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati on Saturday as well. Apart from UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Dharmendra Pradhan were also among the VIPs who took a bath in Sangam on Sunday. Leaving behind the government's estimates, almost 53 crore devotees have taken a dip in the Sangam in the last 33 days in the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. Despite this, there is no decrease in the number of devotees visiting the pilgrimage site from all over the country and the world. A sea of devotees can be seen day and night on the roads of Prayagraj. Due to the crowd, the holiday in the schools up to class 8 in the city has been extended by four more days. Now the schools will remain closed till February 20. The Railway administration has operated hundreds of special trains for the convenience of the devotees, while the UP State Transport Corporation has deployed thousands of buses for the pilgrimage. Despite this, the trains are arriving and going packed to the brim. The 45-day-long Maha Kumbh will conclude on February 26 with the last bathing festival on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. Earlier, it was being estimated that the number of people bathing would decrease after Magh Purnima, but on this great festival falling after 144 years, people are moving towards Prayagraj with the intention of bathing once. In such a situation, there is no possibility of the crowd decreasing till the last day of Maha Kumbh. According to official sources, till 8 pm on Sunday, over 1.49 crore devotees had taken a holy dip, taking the total number of devotees bathing in the Sangam to over 52.96 crore. The government had earlier estimated the arrival of 45 crore people in Prayagraj...////...
