Sultanpur (UP), Jan 13 (Reporter) No proceedings could be held in the model code of conduct violation case against Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in an MP-MLA court here on Thursday. Special Public Prosecutor of Sultanpur civil court Vaibhav Pandey said that the MP's busy schedule in Rajya Sabha proceedings was cited to be the reason behind his absence. "The next hearing is scheduled for February 21," he said. He said that the case is related to a public meeting held in Hasanpur on April 13, 2021, during the three-tier Panchayat elections. "Thirteen people, including Sanjay Singh, are accused of holding a public meeting in favour of AAP's district Panchayat member candidate Salma Begum in violation of the election code of conduct and the Epidemic Act," he said. Pandey said that all the accused are already on bail and now charges are to be framed in the case. "During hearing on Thursday, the MP's advocate informed about the absence citing his busy schedule in Rajya Sabha proceedings, after which the court has fixed the date of next hearing as February 21," he added...////...
