UP govt presents supplementary budget of Rs 12,209 crore

Lucknow, July 30 (Reporter) The Uttar Pradesh government presented a supplementary budget of Rs 12,209.93 crore in the state assembly on Tuesday. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that in the supplementary budget, the revenue account expenditure is Rs 4,227.94 crore and the capital account expenditure is Rs 7,981.99 crore. He said that the size of the proposed supplementary budget is 1.66 percent of this year's original budget. In the supplementary budget, a budget of Rs 7,500.81 crore has been proposed for industrial development, Rs 2,000 crore for the energy department, and Rs 1,001 crore for the transport department to purchase new buses. Along with this, Rs 600 crores have been provided for assisting the Amrit Yojana of the Urban Development Department, Rs 200 crores for short-term training programmes of the UP Skill Development Mission, Rs 100 crores for rural stadiums and open gyms, Rs 28.40 crores for setting up labs in 284 government inter colleges under the Secondary Education Department, Rs 66.82 crores for setting up ICT labs in 1,040 government inter colleges in the supplementary budget. Apart from this, Rs 74.90 crores have been given for various schemes of the Culture Department and Rs 53.85 crores for setting up Atal Residential Schools. Out of these, Rs 2.79 crores will be spent on the maintenance of residential and non-residential buildings. The Finance Minister said to provide employment opportunities to the youth at the national and state level, Rs 49.80 crore has been given for the formation of UP Rojgar Mission Samiti and for operating the scheme, Rs 3.25 crore for the renovation of the Data Centre of Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, Rs 1.98 crore for expansion of digital communication system and associated equipment of Vidhan Sabha Hall and Rs 2.45 crore for installation of digital CCTV surveillance and camera system and expansion of equipment in Vidhan Sabha Library Complex.
