Jalaun (UP), July 13 (Reporter) A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was shot at by an unidentified miscreant in Orai area of Jalaun district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Saturday. Police sources said that the incident took place late on Friday evening when Bhaskar Awasthi, a resident of Krishna Nagar locality, along with his wife Sadhana was returning from the market. "A few steps away from his house he was shot by a motorcycle-borne miscreant," they said. Police sources said that Bhaskar, who was hit in his shoulder, was taken to the medical college from where he was referred to a higher centre in Kanpur. "Besides being the BJP leader Bhaskar is also director of Awasthi Group of Institutions and former district president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad," they said.
