UNI Kashmir Bureau head among 5 awarded by IRRT in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 24 (Reporter) Islamic Relief and Research Trust Kashmir on Saturday presented annual award to five persons for their tremendous achievement in the field of science, social work, medical education, art and journalism. The awards were presented during a well attended ceremony in Srinagar to Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Kashmir(SKUAST-K), Nazir Ganai; Administrator Associated Hospitals, Srinagar, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; prominent writer and poet Ghulam Nabi Haleem, top ophthalmologist Shagufta Rather and noted Journalist and the Bureau head of United News of India in Kashmir Majid Jahangir. The awardees were selected by a jury. The awards were presented by Justice (retired ) Bashir Ahmad Kirmani, Mohammad Zaman Azurdah, author winner of the Sahitya Akademi award; former bureaucrat Ajaz Kakroo, businessman Manzoor Wangnoo also a prominent environmentalist and Abdul Rashid Hanjura- the founder of the Trust.
