Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is progressing towards becoming a developed nation. He affirmed that the country will be free from Naxalism by the year 2026, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
Shri Shah highlighted that following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the CRPF ensured the peaceful conduct of elections. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, CRPF personnel are always ready to serve wherever duty calls. He said, Whenever the glorious history of the nation will have to be written, the names of CRPF martyrs will be inscribed in golden letters.
Shri Shah was addressing the gathering at the 86th CRPF Foundation Day celebration held at the CRPF Group Centre in Neemuch on Thursday. The event was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, District In-charge Minister Sushri Nirmala Bhuria, CRPF Director General Shri Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Member of Parliament Shri Sudhir Gupta, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Banshilal Gurjar, all three MLAs of the district, and other public representatives.
The Union Minister praised the indomitable courage and dedication of CRPF personnel in maintaining the country’s internal security. He acknowledged the force’s significant role in counter-terrorism, anti-insurgency operations, and peacekeeping, stating, "Where there is CRPF, there is no cause for concern."
Shri Shah informed that over 3 lakh CRPF personnel are currently engaged in maintaining law and order and ensuring peace across the country. He recalled the bravery shown by CRPF during critical incidents like the terrorist attack on Parliament and at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, where personnel made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Paying homage to the martyrs of CRPF, Shri Shah said that the force’s contributions to national security—from border areas to the country’s heartlands—can never be forgotten. He noted that the government is extending Ayushman health cards and housing benefits to CAPF personnel. Recruitment of women into the CRPF has also begun, and dedicated housing facilities are being developed for them.
The central government is providing state-of-the-art resources to modernise the CRPF, which has been awarded 2,708 gallantry medals, a testament to its exceptional bravery.
On the occasion, Union Minister Shri Shah reviewed and saluted the parade. Eight contingents of CRPF took part in the march past. He stated that the parade would energise and motivate the jawans. Shri Shah also honoured the personnel selected for gallantry awards and felicitated CRPF members for distinguished services.
Special units, including COBRA, RAF Valley QAT, and Dog Squad, gave impressive and captivating demonstrations during the ceremony. Shri Shah paid floral tributes at the martyrs’ memorial located within the CRPF premises.
