Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation is safe. He stated that due to the strong resolve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to eliminate Naxalism from the country by January 2026, Madhya Pradesh has now become completely free from Naxal violence. The Chief Minister said that owing to the indomitable courage and sacrifices of police officers and personnel, the final farewell to ‘Lal Salaam’ was given in Balaghat on 11 December. He said that today shall be recorded as a golden chapter in the history of Madhya Pradesh. In the virtual presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav from Bhopal, the last two remaining Naxalites in Balaghat, Deepak Uike and Rohit, also surrendered on Thursday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that in just 42 days, a total of 42 Naxalites carrying a combined bounty of ₹7.75 crore have surrendered across the Madhya Pradesh–Maharashtra–Chhattisgarh (MMC) Zone—an unprecedented development.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi and the guidance of Home Minister Shri Shah, a comprehensive and historic campaign against Naxalites and Maoists was undertaken for the first time since Independence. The Central leadership had set the final deadline for the complete elimination of Naxalism by 26 January 2026.
He said the Naxalites were left with only two options—embrace a new life or face consequences. With the coordinated efforts of Central Armed Forces and the brave personnel of Madhya Pradesh Police, the surrender of the last two Naxalites on 11 December has made Madhya Pradesh completely Naxal-free.
