UK PM says coming months in Ukraine conflict will be Crucial

London, Sep 14 (Reporter) UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the coming weeks will be a crucial period in the Ukraine conflict and underscored the importance of supporting Kiev's needs. "I think the next few weeks and months could be crucial," Starmer said alongside President Joe Biden at the White House on Friday. "Very, very important that we support Ukraine in this vital war of freedom." Biden said he and Starmer will discuss important matters related to Ukraine, the Indo-Pacific region, and the Middle East, including ongoing Gaza hostage and ceasefire talks. US media reported that Starmer's visit to Washington is to urge Biden to support long-range fires deeper into Russian territory. The UK reportedly wants to allow Ukraine to use long-range Storm Shadow missiles to hit targets deeper in Russian territory, but it is unable to because these missiles have US technology and require permission from the US government for any such strikes. The White House said earlier that no change in US policy should be expected following the meeting on Friday between the US and UK leaders. Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the West of approving the use of Western-supplied weapons for deep strikes inside Russian territory, adding that any such decision would be considered the entering of NATO into a direct conflict with Russia...////...
