Washington, Aug 9 (Reporter) The suspected shooter in the assassination attempt against former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump visited a gun range dozens of times, ABC News reported on Friday, citing Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley's office.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, the suspect in the assassination attempt against Trump, reportedly joined the Clairton Sportsmen's gun club in Pennsylvania on August 10, 2023, and has visited it 43 times since then, including on holidays.
The 20-year-old suspect tried to assassinate Trump at a campaign rally in the state of Pennsylvania on July 13, but the bullet from the gunman's AR assault rifle grazed Trump's right ear. US Secret Service agents killed the gunman moments after he was able to fire several rounds toward the stage, killing one spectator and critically injuring two others.
