(Rpt, correcting correcting slug) Tiruvarur (Tamil Nadu), May 4 (Reporter) Four people were killed and three others seriously injured when an Omni van in which they were travelling collided head-on with a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus at Karuvepanchery village near Thiruthuraipoondi in Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Police sources quoting preliminary reports said the occupants of the ill-fated Omni were proceeding to the famous Shrine Basilica, Our Lady of Good Health – a Catholic pilgrimage centre at Velankanni from Kerala – while the TNSTC bus Erwadi from Nagapattinam was there when the mishap occurred. The injured were rescued from the mangled remains of the van and admitted to the government hospital at Thiruthuraipoondi in a serious condition.
