Bengaluru, Aug 2 (Reporter) Anti-corruption wizard TJ Abraham on Friday demanded Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to publicly apologise for what he describes as defamatory remarks and has threatened legal action if his demands are not met.
Abraham’s call for retraction comes amidst an ongoing legal battle involving alleged corruption within the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), where Siddaramaiah and his family are accused of receiving illegal land allocations worth approximately Rs 55.8 crore.
Drawing a parallel to the defamation case involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Abraham highlighted the legal consequences faced by Rahul Gandhi for similar allegations. He asserted that Siddaramaiah’s remarks are a desperate attempt to undermine his credibility due to the high-profile case.
Addressing the media, Abraham expressed that Siddaramaiah’s statements have severely damaged his public image, causing significant personal and professional harm. He also criticised the Chief Minister for perpetuating the situation through a disparaging post on X, further intensifying the dispute.
Abraham has demanded a public retraction and formal apology from Siddaramaiah. He warned that failure to comply will compel him to pursue criminal defamation charges in court.
