Jammu, Apr 6 (Reporter) A tight security cover has been put in place in the Jammu district as the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Sunday evening.
Sources said that Shah will be arriving here in the evening.
“Soon after his arrival, he will chair a meeting with the BJP MLAs at the party head office and take feedback about the budget session of the Legislative Assembly and other developments taking place on the political front,” they said.
The Legislative Assembly session will resume on April 7 after a 12-day break and is scheduled to adjourn sine die on April 9.
“After meeting with BJP MLAs on his arrival in the evening, Shah on Monday (April 7) will visit the International Border in Kathua,” they said.
Sources said that in the afternoon, the home minister will meet the families of the police personnel martyred in the Rajbagh (Kathua) terrorist attack at Raj Bhawan.
Two terrorists were killed and four police personnel were martyred last week in the Kathua encounter.
Sources said that Shah will then proceed to Srinagar late afternoon on the same day.
The Home Minister will chair two crucial security review meetings in the Valley of Unified Headquarters and the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Yatra starting from July 3 and concluding on August 9.
Shah will also be dedicating a number of multi-crore projects to the people of the Union Territory through a virtual inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony, they added.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will also be joining Shah in Jammu.
The home minister will return to New Delhi on April 8.
Meanwhile, tight security arrangements are made in Jammu ahead of the VVIP visit with additional deployment of police personnel en enroute Raj Bhawan.
An advisory has also been issued for the heavy vehicles plying on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway on April 7...////...
