Agartala, Apr 9 (Reporter) Three more employees of the Tripura government have been put under suspension following instructions from the Election Commission on the allegation of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Earlier two government employees including security personnel were placed under suspension for attending the political programs of the ruling party. Election officials here on Tuesday said the government employees put under suspension on Monday included Under Graduate teacher posted at Nabin Pally JB School in Sadar Sub-division, a jawan of Tripura State Rifles 7th Battalion Kishan Debbarma and a night guard posted at Gopal Nagar Senior Basic School in Mohonpur sub-division Rashu Choudhury. Meanwhile, ECI held a special meeting on 'Mission Violence Free Election 2024 on Monday to keep the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly by-elections free from violence where Chief Electoral Officer Punit Agarwal, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan directed poll officials and security personnel to adopt zero-tolerance to trouble mongers. “If there is a breach of peace in any area around the election, the culprits will be investigated and brought under the law. Sector officers, police, and various officials will reach the victim quickly,” the CEO told the officials. The identity of the party will not be seen if peace is broken. Even if there is any negligence on the part of the government official participating in the election, he will not be spared, he mentioned while urging everyone to vote fearlessly. The DGP Amitabh Ranjan said that more than 17,000 people have been arrested so far after the immediate announcement of the polls. A total of 84 companies of Central Security Forces have already been deployed in the state to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections.
