Kadapa, June 30 (Reporter) Three pilgrims were killed and 8 were injured when the mini-bus in which they were travelling collided with an unknown vehicle at Chenna Marri Mitta village of Kurabalakota mandal in Annamayya district on Monday.
Police said that a group of 15 people belonging to Bagepalli village in Karnataka State were on pilgrimage. After visiting hill shrine Tirumala, they went to their native village.
The Tempo Travel mini-bus collided with an unknown vehicle killing Charan, Megharshi and Srevani. The condition of three of the injured is said to be very critical and they were admitted to the RIMS hospital. The impact of the collision was so severe that the roof of the mini-bus blew off and the passengers were thrown out of the bus on the road. The police shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem. After colliding with the mini-bus the vehicle fled the scene.
Minister for Transport M Ram Prasad Reddy expressed shock and grief over the ghastly road accident in which three people belonging to Karnataka state were killed. He spoke to the district officials and directed them to provide required medical treatment to the injured people. He ordered the transport officials to rush to the accident site and take up rescue measures. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
Former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed shock and grief over the accident. Terming this accident as most unfortunate, the ex-Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families.
