Lucknow, July 3 (Reporter) A three-member judicial inquiry commission has been constituted under the chairmanship of retired Justice Brijesh Kumar Srivastava (II) of Allahabad High Court for judicial investigation of the accident in Hathras.
Its notification was issued by Governor Anandi Ben Patel on Wednesday night. Retired IAS Hemant Rao and retired IPS Bhavesh Kumar Singh have been appointed as members in this judicial inquiry commission. The headquarters of the judicial inquiry commission will be in Lucknow. The Commission will complete the investigation within a period of two months from the date of issue of this notification. Any change in its duration can be made on the orders of the state government.
As per the notification, the Commission will investigate the incident that took place in Hathras district on July 2, 2024 and after the investigation will submit a report to the state government on the prescribed points. This includes investigating the compliance of the permission granted by the District Administration and the conditions given therein by the organisers of the programme.
Also, to investigate the aspects of whether this incident is an accident or a conspiracy or the possibility of any other planned criminal incident. Apart from this, it will also be within the scope of the Commission to investigate the arrangements made by the District Administration and Police for crowd control and maintaining law and order during the programme and other aspects related to them.
The Commission will also look into the reasons and circumstances due to which the incident occurred. The Commission will also give its suggestions regarding preventing the recurrence of such an incident in future...////...
