Shimla, 25 June (Reporter) Three people are feared missing in cloudburst in Sainj valley of Kullu district, that triggered flash floods in Jeeva stream, washing away houses along the banks in Himachal Pradesh following heavy monsoon rains today.
Other districts where rains triggered flash floods include Shimla, Kangra and Lahaul -Spiti.
Kullu Additional Deputy Commissioner Ashwani Kumar confirmed of incidents of cloudburst and flash floods in the district including Jeeva Nallaha,Stro Gallery and Shilagarh and Horangarh areas.
He said that the NDRF team have swung into action with relief and rescue operations with the local teams.
According to the HP State Emergency Operation Centre official release the cloudburst occured at around 1.41 pm near Majhan Nallah Nalla approximately 1 km downstream of Jeeva trench weir, Sainj Valley district Kullu.
"Due to cloudburst the inflow in the Sainj River is expected to increase considerably. Four houses have been swept away and two to three individuals are reported to have been swept away into the nearby Jeeva Nallah, maintained the release.
Indian Metrological Department has issued orange alert for various districts warning of heavy to very heavy rains likely at one to two places over Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Una districts in the next 24 hours...////...
