New Delhi, Sep 6 (Reporter) Terming the exit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and former Delhi Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam from the party and his move to join Congress as “unusual” and a “recurring phenomenon in politics,” Senior AAP leader and Delhi State Vice President Kuldeep Kumar extended the best wishes to him on Friday. Kumar dismissed the move as routine, highlighting that party-hopping before elections is nothing new. "When tickets are in doubt, some jump ship," he remarked, underscoring the party’s calm response to the ex-AAP leader's exit. “People change sides; they come and go. The AAP gave all due respect to Rajendra Pal Gautam. The party entrusted him with significant responsibilities by appointing him as a minister and overseeing multiple departments,” he said. “Switching parties before elections is a common trend, often occurring when candidates sense that the ground realities are not in their favour and their chances of securing a ticket are uncertain. Then they change sides,” he said. “This is a recurring phenomenon in politics and is by no means unusual.
