Hyerabad, Feb 28 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday urged Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to declare Hyderabad-Bangalore as 'Defence Industrial Corridor”.
Participating in the Vigyan Vaibhav- 2025, a two-day science and technology extravaganza organised as part of National Science Day celebrations, which was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at Gachibowli here, Revanth Reddy said that Hyderabad and Bangalore are important centers for the country's defence sector and if declared as Defence Industrial Corridor, it will bring in huge investments.
Startups like Sky Route, including rocket manufacturing will also develop, the CM said and urged Rajnath Singh to extend cooperation and support in this regard.
“We will make efforts to promote India as number one country in the defence sector”, he assured.
The responsibility of safeguarding the country lies with the youth, Reddy said, noting defence establishments like BDL, DRDO, Midani, HAL are manufacturing rockets and missiles from Hyderabad for the country.
The city of Hyderabad has been playing an important active role in the defence sector in the country, he claimed and said this science exhibition was organised to inspire and educate lakhs of students on patriotism and the responsibility of protecting the country.
Every year, more than one lakh engineering graduates from Telangana, especially those studying computer science, are going to America, the Chief Minister said that we are organizing this science exhibition to explain the importance of the national defence system with patriotism among them.
We are trying to provide efficient engineers required for the country's defence sector apart from sending IT professionals from Telangana to America, Reddy said generating more engineers for the defence sector is more important.
Many organizations like BDL, HHL, Midani, DRDO in Hyderabad have been working exceptionally in the field of production for the country's defence sector before and after India attained independence, he added.
The event was jointly organized by DRDO, AeSI, and Kalam Institute of Youth Excellence to commemorate National Science Day in honour of legendary scientist Sir CV Raman and his ground-breaking contributions to science...////...
