Hyderabad, Nov 11 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a stern directive to officials to take immediate action against any disturbances affecting farmers during grain procurement across the state. He instructed authorities to consider invoking the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) against traders who attempt to deceive or harass farmers in these transactions. After receiving reports of incidents causing inconvenience to farmers in various parts of Telangana, the Chief Minister spoke directly with concerned officials, urging them to prioritise farmer protection, an official statement said on Monday. He emphasised the importance of curbing fraudulent practices and any actions that disrupt the fair procurement of crops. Reddy also directed district Collectors to implement proactive measures for a smooth and efficient grain procurement process.
