Hyderabad, Jan 31 (Reporter) In a significant announcement, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed the state government's commitment to filling a staggering two lakh government vacancies within the upcoming year.
The Chief Minister made this declaration while handing over 6956 appointment letters to staff nurses in the state.
Highlighting the establishment of the new Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), Chief Minister Revanth Reddy outlined that these vacancies would be filled through the TSPSC. Additionally, he revealed plans to fill 15,000 police posts through the Police Recruitment Board soon.
During his address, the Chief Minister emphasised the historical significance of Telangana's separate statehood, achieved through the sacrifices of students.
He noted that the long-pending staff nurse positions were now being addressed, with the government's aim to bring joy to the faces of the underprivileged through increased employment opportunities.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of nurses, he emphasised their importance in contributing to a healthy Telangana.
Reflecting on the past decade, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remarked that the aspirations of the youth had not been fulfilled. He criticised the previous government for prioritising family welfare over the needs of the youth who had fought for Telangana. Taking a swipe at the former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he mentioned the appointment of his daughter, Ms. Kavitha, to an MLC post despite her defeat in elections, contrasting it with the unfulfilled promises to the Telangana youth.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Medical and Health Minister Damodar Najanarasimha, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Forest Minister Konda Surekha, Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and other officials.
The selected candidates were distributed to the following departments:
Director of Medical Education/Director of Public Health and Family Welfare (5,571), Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (736), MNJ Institute of Oncology & Regional Cancer Centre (MNJIO&RCC) (81), Department for Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare (8), Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (117), Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (253), Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (Gurukulam) (68), Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (109) and Telangana Residential Educational Institutional Society (13).
The staff nurse positions come with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 36,750, along with additional allowances such as DA, HRA, etc.
