Hyderabad, Feb 21 (Reporter) Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana C Sudharshan Reddy on Friday conducted a video conference with District Collectors to review the preparedness for the upcoming MLC elections scheduled for February 27.
The meeting focused on ensuring a smooth and efficient electoral process across various constituencies.
During the conference, District Collectors provided updates on polling station arrangements, webcasting facilities, appointment of micro-observers, training of polling personnel, and ballot box management.
Security measures were also reviewed, with officials confirming that 24-hour surveillance and CCTV monitoring had been arranged at polling stations and strong rooms where polled ballot boxes will be stored.
The CEO emphasised the need for effective coordination among election officials, stressing the timely distribution of voter slips and comprehensive training for micro-observers. He directed officials to ensure that polling booths are well-equipped with adequate facilities to facilitate a seamless voting process.
The Biennial MLC elections will be held for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency, Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar & Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ Constituencies, and Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ Constituency.
The meeting was attended by District Collectors from 23 districts, including Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Khammam, and Warangal. Senior officials such as Additional CEO Lokesh Kumar, Deputy CEO Satya Vani, and EVM in-charge Prasad were also present.
