Hyderabad, Aug 2 (Reporter) Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu introduced the Telangana Civil Courts Amendment Bill 2024 on behalf of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and initiated a debate on it as the ninth day of the Assembly session began on Friday.
During the session, the government plans to present reports from various departments in the House. Additionally, a job calendar will also be introduced in the Assembly, with its legality being a topic for debate.
Taking part in the discussion, BRS MLA K T Rama Rao (KTR) supported the Telangana Civil Courts Amendment Bill 2024, which aims to increase the pecuniary jurisdiction of civil courts.
KTR also advocated the establishment of fast-track courts to handle cases of rape and cybercrime.
Speedy actions are crucial in cases of sexual harassment and rape, he added.
KTR pointed out that crime trends are evolving, necessitating updates to the laws. He mentioned that some laws introduced by the Centre may obstruct Leftist and public movements.
States like Karnataka, Bengal, and Tamil Nadu have expressed the need for changes to these laws, he said.
