Kolkata, Apr 6 (Reporter) Sharply reacting to the attack on the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials in Purba Medinipur, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday alleged that the law and order in West Bengal has crumbled completely and urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to initiate proper action against the OC of Bhupatinagar Police Station, SDPO Contai, SP of Purba Medinipur and the DG of WB Police. The officials of the anti-terror agency were attacked on Saturday morning by a mob at Bhupatinagar in election-bound West Bengal's East Midnapore district when they were returning with two arrested TMC activists in a 2022 blast case in which three people were killed, official sources said. One of the officials sustained wounds and the NIA vehicle was vandalised around 6.20 AM by a mob of about 50/60 women. The NIA lodged an FIR with the local police station. "The NIA Team, probing the Bhupatinagar Bomb Blast Case has come under attack at Bhupatinagar in the Bhagabanpur Assembly Constituency, of Purba Medinipur District. The Law and Order structure of West Bengal has crumbled completely and since the control is right now with the Election Commission of India, it's high time that @ECISVEEP should take proper action against the Officer in Charge of Bhupatinagar Police Station, SDPO Contai, SP of Purba Medinipur District and the DG of WB Police," Adhikari, also a resident of Purba Medinipur and an MLA from Nandigram, said. "It is due to Mamata Banerjee's repeated instigation that even after the ED Officials were attacked at Sandeshkhali, the TMC Leaders could still dare to attack the @NIA_India Officers. She recently spoke ill about the NIA at the political event at Mathabhanga, in the Cooch Behar district," the BJP leader posted on his social media. He said, "The NIA team went to apprehend Balai Maity and others who didn't cooperate after receiving summons. Instead these TMC Leaders were busy planning how to attack the National Investigation Agency Officers," Adhikari said...////...
