Kolkata, June 14 (Reporter) The Calcutta High Court on Friday said that Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari and the alleged victims of post poll violence can enter the Raj Bhavan if the Governor permits them. The Single judge bench order of Justice Amrita Sinha followed after Adhikari moved a petition seeking the Calcutta High Court intervention after allegedly being denied entry to Rajbhawan on Thursday even though he had prior permission from the Governor's office. While allowing Adhikari and the alleged post-poll victims to visit the Governor's house if they get permission, the judge asked the state counsels whether the Governor was under house arrest? State Advocate General Kishore Dutta told the court that the allegations by the petitioners were not true, and claimed that Adhikari's Secretary did not communicate with police at the site when they reached outside the Raj Bhavan on Thursday afternoon. Justice Sinha directed Adhikari that he can visit the Governor House along with the people allegedly affected by the violence after the Lok Sabha polls once they get permission from the governor's office, sources said. Adhikari in a post alleged that during the election process and after the results were declared, opposition political Workers; especially the BJP karyakartas were being targeted in West Bengal. " This time the ones facing the wrath of the Ruling TMC Party are the grassroot level BJP Workers, Polling and Counting Agents, and even the local Voters/Supporters of the Rural belt and Urban Slum areas. As a responsible Leader of the Opposition, I have approached the Constitutional Authorities such as the Governor, NHRC, Women's Commission, ST & SC Commission, Home Secretary of Govt of India, and have duly apprised them and intimated them about the miserable condition of thousands of BJP Karyakartas," Adhikari said...////...
