Bengaluru, July 15 (Reporter) Amid a flurry of behind-closed-door meetings between senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala and Karnataka ministers, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara has clarified that while internal evaluations are not unusual, there is no clarity on the specific nature or agenda of the current consultations — especially as some senior ministers like him have not yet been summoned. Addressing the media today, Dr Parameshwara distanced himself from speculation that the meetings were part of a structured performance review. "These kinds of internal assessments have always happened — even during SM Krishna’s tenure, we submitted reports on departmental work," he said. His remarks come at a time when several ministers and MLAs have met with Surjewala, triggering speculation of mid-term reviews, possible reshuffles, or tightening of election preparedness for upcoming Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, and urban local body polls. On the content of the discussions Surjewala had with other ministers, Dr Parameshwara said, "He didn’t meet everyone. He spoke to a few ministers who had sought time. "I was told Surjewala asked — 'What work has been done in your constituency in the last two years? What’s the roadmap for upcoming local elections?' — that sort of thing," he said. Dr Parameshwara’s comments suggest that while internal reviews are a routine party process, the current round of meetings seems selective and lacks the transparency or comprehensiveness one might expect from a formal evaluation. His observations have further fueled speculation about factional dynamics and the Congress leadership’s strategy ahead of critical electoral battles across Karnataka...////...
