Shimla, Feb 17(Reporter) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Saturday to increase the daily wage of MGNREGA workers by Rs 60 by increasing it from Rs 240 to Rs 300 per day.
Presenting the budget in the state assembly on Saturday, the Chief Minister said the government would provide Rs 76 crore from state resources to increase the daily wage of MNREGA workers in the state.
He said women MNREGA workers having an income of Rs 2.50 lakh from every source would be provided Rs three lakh for the construction of houses after completing 100 days of MNREGA work in the state.
The chief minister also announced to hike the honorarium of the Zila Parishad Chairman to Rs 24000 per month, the Vice Chairman of ZP to Rs 18000, the Member of ZP to Rs 7800, and the Chairman of Panchayat Samiti to Rs 11400 per month, the Vice Chairman of Panchayat Samiti to Rs 8400 PM, the Member of Panchayat Samiti to Rs 7200, and Pardhan of Gram Panchayat to Rs 7200.
The Chief Minister said the government has made a budgetary allocation of Rs 20330 crore for rural panchayati Raj institutions. The monthly salaries of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor were increased to Rs 24000 and Rs 18000 PM, the Municipal Corporation counselor to Rs 8400 PM, the Chairman of Nagar Parishad to Rs 10200, and the Vice Chairperson to Rs 8400 per month.
