Mumbai, Mar 12 (Reporter) Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in the Maharashtra Assembly on Wednesday that fake or artificial paneer is definitely a health hazard for citizens and warned that strict action will be taken against the vendors and related parties who are selling this cottage cheese.
Replying to questions raised by members Vikram Pachpute and Kailas Patil in the lower house on this issue, he said that samples are taken to identify adulteration of food and pointed that analysis in laboratories can prevent adulterated products from entering the market.
For this, substantial funds will be provided for new laboratories and strengthening of laboratories of Food and Drug Administration, he said.
Also, existing rules will be amended to crack down on the sale, storage and transportation of fake cheese and make them more stringent, he informed and said that relevant Union Ministers will be requested to change the rules of the central government.
Pawar also gave a clear warning that action will be taken against those who sell such paneer...////...
