Jammu, Nov 12 (Reporter) Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra on Tuesday asked the party cadre to strengthen grass root committees and gear up for Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Gear up your activities in the wake of ULB and panchayat elections shortly and strengthen the grassroots committees," Karra said chairing a review meeting of senior leaders in Jammu.
The meeting was organised to discuss celebrations of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14, Indira Gandhi on November 19, and Constitution Day on November 26.
The meeting was attended by Senior leaders, former Ministers, former legislators, DCC Presidents, frontal wings, former Corporators, and Working Presidents Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla.
The JKPCC chief asked the party leaders and workers to gear up their activities in the wake of ULB and panchayat elections soon and assured them to strengthen the grass root committees, block committees, and district committees with induction of right, dedicated, and committed workers at all levels.
He said that the working of committees shall be reviewed and the committees at all levels shall be reconstituted to further strengthen them.
He said that till new committees are constituted, the existing district and block committees shall continue to function and asked them to gear up their activities in their respective areas.
Karra added that second-line leadership shall be encouraged and promoted based on merit and said that there shall be no favoritism or bias in giving opportunities to work in the organization.
Karra also said that a campaign shall be launched and a series of programs shall be initiated to revive and strengthen the basic ideology of the party and said that the idea of INDIA is the India of Congress, so the revival of the idea of congress means strengthen INDIA...////...
