Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav affirmed that the state government is committed to providing quality healthcare to every citizen. Significant efforts are underway for the social, economic and healthcare upliftment of tribal communities. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Government’s ‘Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan’ is giving new direction to the development and expansion of health services in tribal regions of the state.
As part of this campaign, Mobile Medical Units (MMU) are being deployed to ensure health services reach the remote tribal villages. This marks a significant step toward the comprehensive and balanced development of tribal areas while extending accessible healthcare.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off six Mobile Medical Units from his residence as part of the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Campaign of the Health Department on Saturday. He stated that earlier, under the PM Janman Tribal Justice Mega Campaign, 66 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) were already providing free primary healthcare services at the doorstep to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across 21 districts.
Continuing this initiative, the National Health Mission and the Department of Public Health and Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh, are now deploying six additional MMUs in four tribal-dominated districts: Alirajpur, Khandwa, Dhar, and Jhabua. With this, the state will operate a total of 72 Mobile Medical Units.
The Chief Minister emphasised, “These MMUs will ensure that no resident of tribal villages is deprived of medical facilities. Health care will reach villages that have no government health centers or hospitals within a 10-kilometer radius.” The units will provide free medical consultations, medicine distribution, maternal and child care, immunization, creation of Ayushman Bharat Health IDs, physiotherapy using modern equipment, screening for sickle cell anemia, diabetes and other pathological tests.
The flagging-off ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Principal Secretary Shri Sandeep Yadav, Commissioner of Public Relations Shri Deepak Kumar Saxena, Managing Director of the National Health Mission Sushri Saloni Sidana and other senior officials.
