Colombo, Dec 31 (Reporter) Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday appointed Major General Lasantha Rodrigo as the new Commander of the Army and Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda as the new Commander of the Navy, the President's Media Division (PMD) said in a press statement. Rodrigo is the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, while Banagoda is the 26th Navy Commander, local media reported. The PMD said the official appointment letters were presented to the newly appointed commanders by Secretary to the President Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat.
