Ayodhya (UP), Jan 24 (Reporter) In a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party (SP), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday accused it of opposing leaders like Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar while supporting mafia elements. Addressing a rally in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan for the Milkipur assembly by-election, the CM said, "They mourn the deaths of mafia members and even recite 'marsiya' for them. The devotees of Moid Khan must not succeed. It is time to ensure the victory of nationalists from Milkipur." He said, "SP leaders act shocked when their true colours are exposed. Moid Khan, who disrespected a Dalit daughter, is celebrated as a hero by the SP. This behaviour reflects SP's real character." Yogi said that SP MPs from Ayodhya openly support Moid Khan and even take pride in being associated with him. "Those who glorify someone like Moid Khan pose a threat to the safety of our daughters. They should not be allowed to succeed," he said. Highlighting BJP's stand for justice, he mentioned an incident in Bhadrasa, where a chairman had unlawfully occupied Dalit land. "We made it clear that such actions won't be tolerated here. In UP, justice will prevail for the poor and Dalits, not for mafias or criminals," he said. He said that BJP has won 7 out of 9 seats in the recent by-elections. "Milkipur has to break the record and make the nationalists win the election," he said. The CM said that his entire cabinet had the privilege of taking a dip at the Triveni Sangam on January 22. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve millions of devotees arriving from around the world. He said, "In just 10 days, 10 crore devotees have taken a dip at the Triveni. We expect over 45 crore devotees to visit the Kumbh between January 13 and February 26." Yogi highlighted the inclusive nature of the Maha Kumbh, where people of all backgrounds come together at the Sangam without discrimination. He said that the message of Maha Kumbh is clear, only through unity can our nation remain strong. "However, casteism and dynastic politics remain the biggest obstacles to unity and development," he said. He criticised the politics of casteism and dynasty and said that these were promoted by those who cared only for their families and ignored the upliftment of the marginalised, Dalits, and backward communities. Referring to Dr Lohia's teachings, the CM said, "Those chasing wealth and legacy are not true socialists, yet today's so-called socialists are obsessed with property." He also accused SP of using their flag to shield criminals and mafias, rather than standing up for the poor and the oppressed. "Their sympathy has never been with the weak and the marginalised," he added. Yogi slammed SP President and former CM Akhilesh Yadav for spreading false propaganda about the Maha Kumbh and playing with India's faith. "On January 22, 2024, when Lord Ram’s idol was installed in Ayodhya, SP opposed it. This is the same party whose hands are stained with the blood of Kar Sevaks. They stained the Saryu River with the blood of those who fought for Ram Janmabhoomi," he said. He highlighted several initiatives by his government that were opposed by the SP, including the naming of the Ayodhya Airport after Valmiki, developments at significant religious sites like the birthplace of Sant Ravidas in Seer Govardhan, and the beautification of historical landmarks like the Raja Suheldev memorial in Bahraich and the Lakhimpur Kheri fort. The CM said, "When we named three Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) women battalions after Veerangana Uda Devi, Jhalkari Bai, and Avanti Bai, the SP opposed that too. They even dismantled the 54 companies of the PAC that were formed to deal with rioters." He also pointed out how the SP had changed the name of the medical college in Kannauj, which had been named after Dr BR Ambedkar, but his government restored the name to honour the revered leader. Yogi highlighted the progress made under his government. He said that the agricultural university in Kumarganj is named after Acharya Narendra Dev and its development is visible to all. "Harringtonganj should also be named after Swami Vamdev and Vishnu Nagar," he said. He emphasised that while the SP follows a mindset of slavery, his government and supporters are rooted in faith in Ram, Krishna, Baba Vishwanath, and Saryu Ma. The CM credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for placing Ayodhya on the global map. "If it were up to the SP, they would have erased your name from Ayodhya. They tried hard to maintain the structures of slavery, but we said these will be removed," he said. He praised current and former representatives for continuously developing their regions and affirmed that the BJP stands for nationalism, not family or caste-based politics. "For BJP workers, everything is for the country," he said. On the issue of law and order, Yogi said that the UP Police is doing an excellent job and people across the country are praising their efforts. He highlighted that a UP police inspector recently sacrificed his life in an encounter. He recalled that under the SP government, festivals often led to riots, and citizens, especially women, felt unsafe. "Under the SP, the bigger the dacoit or criminal, the higher the position they held," he said. The CM mentioned the celebration of UP Diwas, marking the completion of the state's 75 years and the beginning of its 76th year. "On this day in 1950, a notification was issued in the name of UP, and cities like Varanasi and Rampur were connected to it. Ayodhya has now become India's first solar city," he said He said, "During the SP's rule, the water at Ram Ki Paidi used to stagnate, but now, like Haridwar, the water at Ram Ki Paidi is considered sacred," he said. He credited the Deepotsav celebrations with giving Ayodhya a new identity and added that Milkipur, too, should be developed to similar heights. "We must ensure Milkipur reaches the same level of progress as Ayodhya," he said...////...
