Indore, June 9 (Reporter) Amid Meghalaya Police's claim that Raja Raghuvanshi's wife, Sonam, was involved in his murder in Meghalaya, Sonam's father has denied these allegations and reiterated the demand for a CBI inquiry into the case.
Sonam's father Devi Singh Raghuvanshi, while speaking to media, said his daughter Sonam has no role in the Raja's murder. "She is innocent. Their marriage took place with mutual consent of the two families," he said.
On the claim of Meghalaya Police, he said since the police's role there was under suspicion, so they framed Sonam. He also denied having any information about how Sonam reached Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to social media on Monday morning and said that the state police achieved a major success in the Raja murder case after seven days.
"Three suspects from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested. A woman has surrendered. The search is on for one more suspect," he said.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya police claimed that Raja's wife Sonam was involved in the murder.
Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering Indore's transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi in Shillong, Meghalaya, was found in a distraught state in a dhaba located in the Nandganj police station area of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday night around 2.30 am, the Ghazipur police in UP reached a dhaba located in the Nandganj area on a tip-off, where Sonam reportedly took a mobile phone from the dhaba owner and called her brother Govind.
Govind immediately informed an acquaintance of his in Ghazipur. As soon as the police got the information, a large force, including Superintendent of Police E Raja reached the dhaba, where Sonam Raghuvanshi was found in a distraught state.
According to the police, Sonam is currently not in a position to talk.
Raja and Sonam got married in Indore on May 11. Both reached Shillong on May 20 to for their honeymoon. However, both went missing there on May 23. After a long search for both of them, Raja's body was found in a deep ditch on June 2, while Sonam went missing.
Sonam's family alleged that unknown people might have kidnapped her and taken her to Bangladesh. However, the state police ruled out that possibility after a search...////...
