Snow, wet weather increases cold wave in Himachal

Shimla, Feb 4 (Reporter) The continue snowfall on the high reaches and insistent rainfall in the state intensified the cold wave condition in the state. The Met office recorded 5.6, cm snowfall at Kalpa in Kinnaur, Bharmaur 5 cm, Gondla 4.2 cm, Keylong three cm, Khadrala, Kufri (Shimla), Khadrala and Shilaroo, Kufri in Shimla, Kukumseri 1.6 mm and Sangla and Pooh one cm each. Tourists Resort Shimla and its nearby areas were are mainly overcast since early morning and intermittent rain and snowfall are receiving. Snowfall are thawing due to frequent spell of rain along with snow. According to Met Office Jogindernagar in Mandi had 13 mm rain, Slapper 12.5 mm, Rohru in Shimla 10 mm, Gohar in Mandi nine mm, Jubberhati 8.4 mm, Sarahan in Shimla 6.6 mm Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur 6.5 mm Berthin & Naina Devi (Bilaspur) Palampur(Kangra) and Seobagh in Kullu 6.2 mm and Shimla five. According to Lahaul Spiti administration, in view the road and weather conditions in the district, and the Black Ice Phenomenon and slippery road conditions on NH -3 advisory was issued for the commutters. According to spokesperson four by four wheel driving vehicles with chain(Sumo and Bolero) could allowed to enter the district via ATR from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM till further orders. During the snowfall Locals & tourists are advised to be very cautious while travelling in the valley. They are requested to move and stay in safe places. All Hotel and Homestay owners are also requested to advise their guests likewise. According to Lahaul Spiti administration around one feet snow is mounted at Keylong and it was snowing. Kaza also snowing and had five cm snow Udaipur, Tindi, Koksar and Susu also snowing. Vehicular traffic was opened last night in South and North portal of Rohtang Tunnel getting snowfall recorded 12 cm and 8 cm fresh spell of snowfall. Minimum temperature shows slight improvement however it is below freezing point in few places. Kaza recorded around minus ten degrees, Keylong minus seven Kukamseri minus five,Kalpa minus 2.2, Narkanda minus 0.1, Manali 0.1 and Dalhousie and Kufri one. Shimla and Dharmshala at three degrees each, Solan four, Mandi Bhuntar and Jubberhati airport five, Nahan (Sirmour), Una, Kangra and Hamirpur six degrees and Bilaspur eight. It was mainly cloudy and visibility is drastically low. IMD issued orange warning of heavy snowfall and thunderstorms and lightening and increasing of cold wave in the state...////...
