New Delhi, Jan 25 (Reporter) President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday approved the President’s Tatrakshak Medal (PTM) and Tatrakshak Medal (TM) for six Indian Coast Guard personnel on the eve of 75th Republic Day. A Defence Ministry statement said here Inspector General Bhisham Sharma has been awarded the President’s Tatrakshak Medal (Distinguished Service), while two ICG personnel -- Comdt Sunil Dutt and Comdt (JG) Saurabh -- are the recipients of Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry). Moreover, the Tatrakshak Medal (Meritorious Service) has been conferred on three Coast Guard officers including two DIGs Anil Kumar Parayil and Jamal Taha. The medal awardees have played a pivotal role in safeguarding maritime boundaries, responding to emergencies at sea, and contributing significantly to the nation’s maritime security framework.
