Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that women are now becoming ‘Job Creators’ rather than ‘Job Seekers’. He emphasised that women have brought a level of confidence to the fields of industry and investment that will, in the coming years, help Madhya Pradesh become the ‘Growth Engine’ of a self-reliant India. Women participate in more than 47 percent of the state's startups. Through the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, over one lakh women in the state are now earning more than one lakh rupees annually. Today, more than five lakh self-help groups have connected around 6.2 million women, who are not only improving the financial conditions of their own households but also contributing to the state's economy. In rural areas, self-help groups have expanded into production, packaging, marketing, and designing. Women in the state are making their mark in various fields, including agriculture, handicrafts, food processing, garment manufacturing, biotechnology and startups.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the MP Excellence Award-2025 organised by Bhopal Women Hub at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center on Sunday. He also extended best wishes to everyone for Chhath Puja. He said that in Indian culture, women’s power is considered the pivot of society. We seek knowledge and wisdom from Goddess Saraswati, wealth & prosperity from Goddess Lakshmi and strength from Goddess Durga. For us, sisters and daughters are akin to goddesses. Women's education, health, security and self-reliance are our top priorities. He said that social media platforms have become effective tools for women’s empowerment, helping strengthen autonomy, entrepreneurship, and leadership abilities among women.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the event by ceremonially lighting the lamp. The event began with a Kathak dance performance by girls. There were presentations on the activities of Bhopal Women Hub and the objectives of the MP Excellence Award ceremony. Short films were also shown on women’s empowerment, expansion of industrial activity, ongoing development efforts in the state and public welfare programs under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
